Ariel Rowing Machine is hilarious. But does it work? How many watts?
Count me in as another fan of behind-the-scenes stuff, especially in videos. Out-takes can be especially entertaining. Especially in the more serious scenes, it’s always fun to see everyone come out of character for a bit. Helps make it clear it’s all for fun.
So Hywel, how do you shoot downward angles without a high ceiling, use a ladder? What focal lengths?
Merlin1,
Wow — defending the right of others to do things you wouldn’t necessarily want to do yourself. Makes this Yank all nostalgic for what I was taught in civics class the US was supposed to be about, all those years ago.
Wasn’t Harriet Cooper the name of the elderly aunt in the campy 1960’s Batman? I do remember her getting tied up once, but I can’t say it was particularly erotic. It was much better when Batgirl (RIP) got tied up.

Is this survey still going? I see the pages are still up.
Some strappados, carefully done, can be very sexy. But I agree, they come very close to looking like torture, which really turns me off.
Agreed — I also need to see the model’s face. Some gags, such as ball gags, are usually OK as long as they’re not overused; if one is used it should be introduced partway through the shoot. But some models have such pretty mouths that they should never be gagged.
Playful, cartoonish protests are fine, but I also strongly dislike anything that looks like actual torture, pain or non-consensuality, even though it’s all simulated. There’s already too much of that dark stuff around the net.
The models should generally look like they’re enjoying themselves, but that doesn’t mean smiling in every picture. A model who looks hot and bothered from being tied up can be an incredible turn-on. Jenni C is one of my favorite models because she really projects both of these looks so well.
Me too. I’ve always liked the fun, lighthearted sets much more than the serious, dark ones. I’ve always been uncomfortable with nonconsensual situations, even simulated.
That chair reminds me of comedian Lilly Tomlin’s “Edith Ann” character. Remember her? She played a 5 1/2 year old girl. Tomlin sat in an oversized rocking chair to make her appear more childlike.
Yes, tethering is good whether it’s to a waist chain (preferably behind the back) or overhead to something rigid like a bed or pole. I like bondage that forces the model to prominently expose her breasts (and leaves them vulnerable). I don’t care much for fiddles (or handcuffs to a collar) for this reason.
One of the best sets you ever did (in my opinion) is the one of Jenni C in the kitchen, nude and handcuffed behind the back, with the handcuffs locked to a waist chain. Another great one has her on the staircase, nude with her hands cuffed behind her to the railing.

Yes, those SM cuffs are good but nowadays I like Irish-8’s even better. They’re as restrictive as tying the wrists together with rope, but for metal they’re surprisingly comfortable.
And of course they’re completely inescapable, like all good metal bondage.
I know it’s all a matter of personal opinion, which is neither right nor wrong, but I have to say that the nude handcuffed behind the back is my favorite type of bondage. Being cuffed in front, even with waist chains, just doesn’t seem worth the effort. There’s something about hands fastened behind the back that greatly heightens the sense of helplessness and vulnerability that is the whole point of bondage.
I wasn’t squicked by the food but I’d be fine with her doing something else.
Hey, it’s also fine if she’s bound so that she can do nothing but struggle.
I’ve seen the collar handcuffs used a lot but I can’t say I like them much because the model’s arms hide her breasts. Hands behind the back are still my favorite. Secure but comfortable, and better yet her breasts are defenseless…
I’ve always had a thing for handcuffs. They look good and can be quite secure. But I never cared for the clunky old Darby type until I found the rigid Irish-8s.
A lot of BDSMers don’t like handcuffs because they allow too much movement. Thin or sharp ones are also pretty uncomfortable. The Irish-8s are the best of both worlds: they hold the wrists as closely as rope, they’re wide and smooth for comfort, and they’re even more inescapable than most handcuffs. That’s how I like my bondage so the Irish-8 is my new favorite.
KUB makes several varieties. I see that RE already has the screw key type but you might also consider their “high security” model with a pin-tumbler lock. They snap on more easily and can actually be removed more quickly (assuming you have the key, of course).
The only real drawback to the Irish 8 is its lack of adjustability. That’s not a problem for an individual; it can even be an advantage because they can’t overtighten and don’t need a double lock. But if you cuff a lot of models you may have to get a range of sizes.
Anyway, I’d sure like to see them used more often. Behind the back with palms together is best: completely comfortable and completely helpless. Even with the key, most wearers can’t get out without help…
