A barefoot Paige for Christmas – looks like santa got my letter. I better be careful on Christmas morning around the girlfriends parents in case the other items are delivered!

The post RE smugness began to slip yesterday when my bike got a puncture on the way home and I had to walk a couple of miles with the stricken cycle to the railway station – it is back now though!
Ha, sorry for freaking you out by suddenly getting naked, CD – I always forget that it might be a bit of a shock… But I’m glad you liked the cake, made me happy!
Don’t lets get me wrong – there was absolutely nothing there that freaked me out – as I pressume my facial expression testified! As I say, it just wasn’t my normal Saturday.

Ps; RE Christmas pantomime – Ariel tied up by captain hook and sings whilst attempting to untie herself (the older Ariel might not have the same success escaping). In the meantime CD is going to look out the local drama school – fingers crossed for a production of hook.
PPs; Since there has been a bit of talk about alternative bondage materials (following the ribbons) – we were talking on Saturday about early bondage experience (as kids) and tying up/being tied up by friends. A common experience for the few of us involved in the conversation was dressing gown (bath robe) cord. I don’t think this has been done on RE yet – perhaps somehting that needs addressing.

You know I am not going to launch into a detailed chat about the photography – there are people far more qualified to do that in this forum and they have, very well.
I actually quite liked the set (I went back and studied it in more detail after reading Curious 1’s comments and I have some sympathy with his dislike of the gag but would disagree with his comment about the photographer not moving around – to my eyes he did) and I’ll tell you for why. This site has grown in recent years to be far more than just your run-of-the-mill bondage website. As the response to your post will testify it is increasingly becoming a community, brought about by this forum (and particularly the arrival of Ariel into the forum). Today’s set (the one you disliked so very much) reflects just how far that community has come. Pling and Svampen were members – just like me and (I presume) you. Through a combination of Pling’s bravery(?), Hywels willingness to shoot and feature an amateur model on the site and Svampens willingness to alllow Pling to do this and to get involved with the photography himself we are privilaged to see the results on this site (can you think of another site where this would happen?). Likewise we often now see sets on the site shot by two other members of this forum (Steve and Merlin) and it is great to see their creativity being introduced to the site albeit in a style compatible with the look and feel of the site that Hywel has worked so hard to establish (I have even recently become an RE photographer myself!)
I really look forward to Pling-shoots. Of course she is beautiful, but I think her relative inexperience of bondage modeling coupled with her natural submissiveness and the knowledge of how Pling and Svampen have come to feature on the site add so much to the sets in which she features. Looking at today’s set it is clear that Pling is loving being tied up (I don’t know but it is not hard to imagine that, that it was Svampen doing the bondage and photography, might have added to the joy) and Svampen has captured this fantastically. In my opinion RE stands alone in the quality of its photography and there is not one of Svampens shots that look out of place amongst that high standard of photography (I have to confess I wasn’t so sure when Hywel first floated the idea of other photographers on the site – his standard was so high – but I haven’t been disappointed yet)
Pling or Svampen – I would be really upset if Curious 1’s comments affect your view of the site or your decision to feature on it. I think your work is of a very high standard – and as I have already said I liked today’s update.
As has already been suggested – only constructive comments in future please!

I think everyone prefers barefeet – even those who haven’t realised it yet! 32AA’s, 36DD’s? I don’t have a favorite battery size! Odd – though I do use AAA’s quite a lot.

I did consider that a doll restrained in a box doesn’t move all that much and so may not make for a great photoset – your idea of a cord that springs Ariel-doll into life would solve that nicely.

Merlin – I know this is a potential problem, given that she quite likes it, but I can’t imagine anyone being mean to Ariel – she is just too lovely! I am not sure how I am going to react to the next set of her being spanked/flogged/whipped. You begin to feel a little bad when, having helped untie her from a suspension, she springs up and busys herself making you cups of tea!

Thanks for your positive comments. Saturday was one of the more memorable days of my life – I am so pleased I went. Ariel is even lovlier in real life than on the site (I know – it seems impossible but really she is) and Hywel gave an excellent tutorial. I suggested in the chat the other day that I found the day a bit surreal – I honestly think Hywel believes what he does is the most normal thing in the world. I think it first struck me when Ariel slipped out of her dressing gown ahead of the ribbon-tie (as you can see from the pictures without the ribbon she really wasn’t wearing all that much!) I nearly dropped my camera! – this was not going to be a normal Saturday sat in front of the TV. It was also quite strange seeing Ariel and Hywel in 3D, of course I recognised them both immediately, but it was really quite odd being in a room that I had grown so used to seeing only on my computer monitor.
Kate diagnosed the other evening a condition known to all who have experienced an RE shoot as post RE smugness – a condition from which I fear I may not recover. I was wondering though if any of you have any advise on how to snap out of it. I had two really long and fairly tedious meetings today and I fear that flashbacks to Saturday might have dented my attention somewhat. If this carries on I will agree to some more ridiculous deadlines and likely loose my job!
I was delighted that the ribbon idea sort of worked – at least until it disintegrated! I think the result was really effective. It is a shame that it is a bit of a nightmare to tie though (Hywel grumbled really quite a lot!) – it would be good to see a set where it holds out a little longer.
The suspension was amazing to see. It was the last set we shot and looking through the photos that I took they are the shots I am most happy with – I think I was a little apprehensive when we first got underway and it is great to see the progression in my shots as the day went on (I guess that was the point of the day). It was also really interesting to see how much Ariel puts into her work and the effect, particularly the hogtie and suspension, had on her (nothing major – just a need for a few moments to get her self back in normal Ariel mode).
I had a great time – a day that I won’t forget for a very long time.

And there was me thinking that RE was a high-brow crowd, first Ariel and now Kate have outed themselves as X-factor viewers.

Hi all;
So here it is, CD’s first foray into the field of fiction. In actual fact retrofitting a story onto an already shot set turned out to be quite dfficult, and I am therefore not really sure photos and story fit entirely together, but I am happy with the concept anyway;
The big day had arrived. It had been a year in the half in the planning, the church booked, dresses brought and honeymoon paid for. It was to be the wedding Charlotte had dreamt about since she was a child and nothing was going to spoil it for her, except perhaps for Sophia….
Charlotte always knew that Sophia had a thing for Dave. Was it the occasionally caught stares she had seen pass between them, or the fact Dave seemed to laugh more when Sophia was around? She couldn’t quite decide but was sure that nothing was going to come between her and her dream wedding – least of all Sophia (her heart sank at the prospect of the vicar asking the congregation if they knew of any impedement that should prevent Charlotte getting her man!). Some insurance was definitely required…
Sophia was at first perplexed at Charlottes invitation to the house on the morning of the big day, she never thought her and Charlotte got on all that well and she seemed to be overly paranoid about her friendship with Dave. Still, it was Charlotte’s big day and if she was wanted this was not the day to disappoint – who knows maybe the prospect of married life had mellowed the old girl. When she arrived at the house Charlotte seemed pleased to see her, and even complimented her on her new satin skirt (brought especially for the occasion). All of the wedding plans looked to be under control and, having a little time to spare, Sophia joined Charlotte in a little drink to calm the nerves (Sophia remembered to kick her shoes off on the way in, save dirtying Charlottes new carpets). Why had the pair not sat down for a drink and a chat before? Sophia thought as she started on her second glass of champagne. Charlotte was being really nice. Until…
Suddenly Charlotte revealed a length of rope from behind the couch;
“Whats that?” asked Sophia naively.
“ I think it is time the pair of us had a little chat about your behavior around my fiancé, Bitch!” spat Charlotte approaching Sophia with the rope.
“But…”
“I have seen the looks you give him, but in a couple of hours he will be mine and I am going to make damn sure you can do nothing about it”Half an hour later the bride left for the wedding. She looked fantastic and as she stopped outside the house for a quick photo before the short journey to the church a smile crept across her face, was it the joy of the occasion or the knowledge that she was now sure that nothing was going to come between her and her big day.

I think I joined this site as someone with an interest in the bondage, the models you use and predominantly the combination of the models you use and the bondage! and for the most part I think I remain pretty much in that cohort of RE members.
Back in the day there was really very little spanking on the site and given the above statement, about my interest being predominantly in the bondge, this was just fine for me. More recently, particularly with Ariels increased involvement in the site (and the webmaster!), there has been more spanking (and cp in general) and I have rather surprised myself that I have been unperturbed by this and am enjoying these videos as much as the rest of the content you put up.
In answer to your question therefore, for RE in general a definite thumbs up for spanking (with the usual caveats of it being shot/conducted/portrayed in a manner in keeping with the overall RE philosophies). For me personally the thumb is teetering probably 60% of the way up (I wouldn’t leave the site is there were no more spanking but I am quite enjoying the videos where there is some spanking!)

PPs; Am entirely in favor of Lurkers exception for tickling. I have no concerns about more tickling on the site – in fact you could probably sign me up for a lifetime membership if there were more of it!

Am going to have to agree with the previous posts – a hilarious video. On the sensible side it was a great balance between the pure comedy and the bondage video (thanks for showing us customers the soles of the girl-flesh feet missy Ariel – you sure know what your regular punters are after!). In honesty though I don’t think I’d have minded if there was no bondage in the video – it was genious even without it. (cowboy?)Hats off to Ariel for maintaing that frankly dodgy accent throughout the video and to all three of you (plus guest appearance of Hywels arm) for some great performances all round. We must reconsider the idea from a few years back of holding the RE oscars.

I would second Hywels recommendation, Avenue Q is comfortably the funniest thing I have seen anywhere in a very long time (I saw it about 18 months ago). Indeed I am still here! I still pop in now and again see what you’re all up to and squirrel off again, though you are right I should spend an evening replying to the last six months worth of posts before settling down to compose my Christmas post!
It seems that during this period of inactivity a number of the RE membership took themselves off to Sweden (jealous – moi?!) where, according to the behind the scenes photos that went up on the site a while back, Merlin and Steve were revealed to have large round yellow heads complete with smiley faces! (somehow I always knew!).
The tutorial? The threat of an angry Ariel proved too much for this member. I am signed up for the November 15th tutorial. I must admit I can’t wait! I hope Miss Anderssen isn’t planning on bringing too many shoes to the shoot!
Hope all of you regulars are well – I will get on with that mega-post in due course. The site is fab at the moment isn’t it? We must surely all pat ourselves on the back for voting Amy Allen in the Bondage X-factor she is amazing!

I am sure I am not alone amongst the RE members in being quite grateful that you didn’t cut Ariel in half by crotchrope! I am sure we will all head the important safety implications of your anecdote – though for my own part would like to report how, unfortunately, rare it is that I find myself passing rope around the underside of a bound, naked model (I think I feel compelled to call you a lucky B*stard in all future posts to this forum).
Since the tale had a happy ending – and I do see how potentially serious a situation it might have been (I would therefore not wish to take anything away from the serious message contained within) I wonder if we could spare a thought for how the heck you might have explained any injuries to the staff at the local accident and emergency department? A dog walking incident – or perhaps an injury sustained whilst bell ringing?

This Bondage X Factor idea has been a huge success. I have to say I was concerned this year that having been through the process last year you (Hywel + team) might have struggled to find competitors for this years competition. My concerns were of course unfounded, all of the models portfolios I saw looked fantastic and the winner looks to be every bit as great a find as Samantha OP was last year.
I look forward to seeing plenty more shots of Amy on the site in the near future.

Oh dear – it has been a while again hasn’t it? In actual fact I did look in a couple of weeks ago (having got my password for the new forum etc) and thought that I must be the first here as nobody seemed to be posting. Turns out I had inverted the order at which posts were displayed – and yes, I did feel suitably stupid when I realized my error earlier in the week.
All of this means that the biggest and best news from RE has completely passed me by. Indeed I am guessing that Ariel posted here ahead of Pling’s last web chat which means everyone at the chat knew apart from me – I feel so out of touch!
Well what to say now?
Ariel you can not possibly be in love with Hywel as I too am in love with him and it will just get terribly confused now wont it?
(the above was a joke btw – I have never met the man let alone struck up a relationship with him)
Back to being serious though, I can only reiterate what the others have been saying (above) congratulations to the two of you I wish you every happiness together. Hywel is of course correct in his assumption that we were as jealous as hell of him before the pair of you were together and I am sure our collective jealousy must have shot off the scale on hearing this news (going out with a model, who enjoys being tied up by you – you lucky b*#~”%d).
As for your concerns about whether the members might be put off by your relationship? Well I for one am not – whilst I would not want it to have a negative impact on the work you do together (we wouldn’t want Hywel going soft on Ariel as a result of this would we?) I think it could add a fascinating twist to the sets in which you are both involved.
Now about all of this “it’s been obvious for a while” stuff that has been written above. Has it? I think you are all just hopeless romantics as it was not particularly obvious to me! Though I do still live in a cave.

Have to be honest and say I haven’t really strong opinion on this. I guess given the choice, and were it simply done, then you would try to preserve the history of the site but if losing it is unavoidable then so be it. It is, after all, a rare day that I go looking through the history of the forum for a particular thread – having said that it might be good if somebody could still gain access to the past posts as there have been occasion when we have needed to look back (we recently asked who started the Ariel/princess nonsense for example).
Most of all, and in agreement with the others, I think it is the people who make this and any other forum and so I am sure as long as the move is painless, such that we don’t loose anyone in the process, we will be fine with whatever Hywel thinks best.

Most memorable RE moment? I keep meaning to write my top 10 RE sets list but become distracted when it gets too hard (the thinking :blush). It’s a tough one. I think I might have to go for one of the Chanta sets – probably with Ariel and if pushed probably the Ariel/Chanta leg-up set and accompanying video. That said – it does change with the weather and some of Sophia, Paige and Jasmines sets are high entries on the list (oops – and Kate’s of course!) and who knows what tomorrows set will be like? The quality of the site is so high at the moment that any day could very easily throw up a new favorite. Better knock out that top 10 soon!

As you know by now I am a bit of a Bond fan, and whilst I am normally going on about the fantastic damsels in distress scenes in that series over the years I think if it is vanilla (where do you get a list of these ice-cream flavours and there BDSM connotations?) you are after you could do a lot worse than Eva Green’s character in Casino Royale. Beautiful dresses, stylish, sassy – frequently barefoot she had it all. Stand-out scene has to be where she has just witnessed Bond kill those two guys at the bottom of the stairs. He returns to their hotel room to find her fully clothed and sat, emotional, in the shower. The scenes that follow with Bond joining her in the shower, comforting her, are truly fantastic.

Do you know I am not sure I really care either way. A beautiful and convincingly submissive model is both beautiful and submissive regardless of her colour. That said it has always struck me as odd that there are not more black and Asian models on the site – I guess it must just be a lack of UK based black or Asian bondage models.

Before I get underway with my list (which in typical CD posting behavior will bear a striking similarity to a lot of those who have posted before – owing to my coming to this thread so very late) can I just ask if poor Ariel is sleeping any better? It seems to me that this whole thread is the responsibility of the poor dear having a bad night. I do hope it is not a guilty conscience that has been keeping her up, if Hywel has any suspicion that she is keeping something from him who knows what he might do?
Alas, back to the list, and I have to admit I am a little confused as to the exact topic here, so have gone for what turns me off when looking at bondage photography on a site like this (I figured this to be of more value to you than what turns me off in general). Is this any different to real life? Well I guess there are things on bondage websites that are going to just irritate you (crappy photography for example) to such an extent that it might become difficult to see beyond it and thus to properly appreciate the model/situation and so I have included things that irritate me about bondage websites as well as general no no’s.
– Absolutely anything to do with bodily fluids or solids come to that. I guess you shouldn’t knock things until you try them but please? What are these people thinking? Oh and put blood and piercing on the list – oh and people threading tings through existing piercings!
– Messed up models. No not as in models with personal issues, rather models that though may have started the set looking like the girl next door/secretary/business boss… have over the course of the set had their clothes all messed up and the make-up smudged. Not, perhaps, a hard and fast rule but I do like the ‘elegance’ that keeps me coming back to this site.
– Animal play. Whilst this includes dog training (I exclude the recent Ariel punishment – as there was some context to this and it was quite clear that this was Ariel – a human – being punished) I particularly mean pony play – this is another one I really can not get my head around.
– Men in shot. Am making an exception for Hywel – appearing as a rigger or a Dom (to some extent) is fine. Definitely no male nudity (that does include Hywel – sorry old chum!) and no male subs.
– As a foot-guy you might have expected me to include models with shoes on on this list and whilst I stand by my oft stated belief that you can not be truly submissive with shoes on I accept that they are a necessary evil on occasion though lets be absolutely sure about this – there is a huge gulf between a nice leather boot or sandal and those damn ugg boots). Manky feet however I can well live without and these I would definitely list as a turn-off both photographically and in ‘real life’. There are definitely occasional good reasons for stockings and/or shoes.
– Dodgy acting. There are a whole raft of crimes here. Often a model asked to take a dominant role in a video will, I have noticed, just start randomly swearing in a really unconvincing way. I am not a huge fan of swearing but have been known to utter the odd swear-word and have generally meant it but when the ‘dom’ is just saying it for her perception of effect it really grates. Putting on a false laugh when tickled – it’s just irritating stop it. Noises associated with the physical exertion of fighting against the bondage is fine and authentic – whining and whimpering noises for effect are just irritating.
– Rubbish bondage. If the person you are tying up can easily get out why bother? This includes overly loose handcuffs (I don’t need to see a models circulation cut off but daylight = too loose) people with no idea of what to do with rope (never a problem on RE – at least when Hywel or Chanta are rigging) and (this is something that Hywel does) putting cuffs on wrists and ankles, locking them in place, and then neglecting to fasten them together.
– Whilst not a turn-off particularly, I share many of your concerns regarding dildos and forced orgasms. Bondage = good, gynecology lesson = not so good. I have seen some of the stuff on Chanta’s site and think she incorporates it well – she is clearly very skilled at rigging, shoots a little harder than RE and the dildo-play sort of fits into the context of things. More off-putting is where it seems to be used just for effect, kind of “what else shall we do? Let’s reach for the dildo!â€what is a/the dalek ??
Oh Hasler – you really are going to have to get hold of some Dr Who on DVD or video (actually it must be all over You Tube) it is fab and all British children are brought up fearing the evil daleks (the now occasional nemeses of the Dr). There has recently been a resurgence of interest in the series as the BBC brought it back (about 4-5 years ago) and it now lacks the cardboard sets and frankly dodgy props and adversaries for which it was famed in the 70’s. As a mark of how big it is, they even got Kylie Minogue to feature in the recent Christmas special and there is talk that the BBC might be in talks to get her back on a more permanent basis (though if anyone that saw the Christmas special this is clearly going to be an interesting twist in the plot!). Unfortunately the new series(s) have not really featured the Dr’s assistant (the Dr often picks up an assistant along the way with whom to share his adventures – oddly these are often attractive women – well you would wouldn’t you?) becoming captured and giving it the damsel in distress routine, a childhood memory no doubt for many of the UK-based RE regulars.
Hywel has a Dalek? – can the man become any cooler? Wicked job and a Dalek! My hero.
Perhaps this is one of those things that if you see every day the thought never occurs to you but there has to be some mileage in featuring your Dalek in a RE set? Admittedly it may take some skill on the part of the suitably restrained model to convey fear of the impending wrath of an inflatable Dalek (they can shoot you from something that looks like a sink plunger!) but it has to be worth a try!

Ps; Though a Dr Who fan always I really enjoyed Torchwood (a sort of spin-off for adults with some characters occasionally traversing the two shows) last year and have just watched the first episode of the new series. Worth a look.

In response to anonanonanon7’s initial point, I think a big draw to Restrained Elegance for a lot of us members is the fact that it is not the sort of site that is overly graphic in picture/video content or indeed language (about which your post refers). Having been a member some years I guess it an unlikely change, but were Hywel to decide he wanted the site to go in that general direction he might well pick up a few more members (there seem to be a wealth of sites out there offering that sort of content so there must be a market) but he would also certainly loose some of the regulars. The site has been around for a fair few (6? – I feel I should know that) years now and I have not detected a general drift away from elegant models tied-up to a more S/M D/S focus (the exception to this has of course been the heavier Ariel RE Nights shoots which I thought would take more getting used to than they have in part due to what Feline mentioned i.e. Ariel enjoys them and we see that in the set or in her description of the set). However, another theme running through the posts, is that often the subject matter requires some degree of ‘forceful instruction’ and where this happens in this context I feel it is entirely necessary and does not detract from my enjoyment of the site at all. In the context of the set in question, and keeping previous videos of Chanta’s RE photoshoots in mind, I can well imagine that phrase being used and it is fine with me in that context (I have clearly never met Sophia but am sure she is anything but a B*â€
When I shove a RM movie onto the secondary monitor, so I can watch it while doing something else, I loose the picture
Why the heck would you want to do something else whilst watching videos from our favorite bondage website? Have you ever succesfully completed the other task or, as I suspect happens, did you become sidetracked watching the video?
Personally I only ever bother with the large RM file nowadays (I was a late adopter of Broadband) which I watch with my fullest attention just as soon as it has completed downloading (a slight fib!). I hadn’t really registered that Real had installed a whole load of other stuff with the media player so it can’t be bothering me that much. If available, given a choice, I will likely still download the large RM file.
