For some reason Windows Media Player won’t play the full-HD version of the Penny Lee behind the scenes video clip.
Other players (VLC, RealPlayer, Mac) seem to play it fine, and WMP plays the smaller MP4 version fine too.
As far as I know I compressed this clip exactly the same way as usual. Since it only seems to cause problems for one player, I’m writing it off as a one-off bug in WMP. You can play the clip in an alternative player, or play the smaller MP4 clip in MP4.
Please let me know if it starts to happen for other clips; if it does we obviously have a problem I’ll need to find and fix. Thanks!

Tell me about it….. I downloaded ‘Slave Auction’ mid-June using Windows 8 and have not been able to find it, and being ‘free’ there’s no one from who I can seek succour for any consideration. Not Your problem of course but just telling someone in the scene makes me feel that little bit less isolated.

Are you having problems viewing Slave Auction? What are the symptoms of the problem? Have you tried a different media player? VLC, for example? I haven’t had any other complaints. Have you tried downloading the film again in case it was a truncated download?
I assume you mean that Windows Media Player was “free”, not that you’ve downloaded a pirate copy of slave auction, incidentally… 🙂

First, I hasten to assure You that I obtained ‘Slave Auction’ legitimately. To be honest, I don’t know what’s worse – the fact that I seem to have parted with money for nothing or I am not enjoying something far superior to the real thing as I have experienced it (where would we be without art?).
As to the symptoms, the trouble seems to have started with the options displayed when the download was shown as having been completed – I opted for Windows Explorer (if it’s no good why was it offered?) Suffice to say, I can’t find it anywhere. As to downloading it again, there seems to be no way this can be done without paying twice for it . So, basically, what I want now, is not only to recover the video but get it onto DVD. As to how and at what cost, I’m even prepared to do a Katy. Any offers……..anyone?
