I became a member for about 5 or 6 months starting about a year ago. My biggest frustration is that the archive sets I wanted rarely seemed to be the ones posted. I could and did ask Hywel for certain archive sets, but that was a hassle and only yielded 3 archive requests a month. When I quit there were between 15 and 20 archive sets that hadn’t been made available yet to members, only as singles.
I’d like to either rejoin as a member for a few months if I could pick up those archive sets in the process. I’ll buy the old sets I want individually If I have to, but that is both more expensive per set and less fun. Unfortunately I don’t know of any way to know just what is in the archives available to members section. I know from my time as a member that the archive updates aren’t always mentioned in the public update page. I’ve also noticed that some archive sets that were available when I was a member are being re-introduced as available now. Indicating to me that some archive sets have been posted, taken down, and reposted in the last year, while others have not been made available at all as far as I can tell.
This leads me to my quandary: Should I just go buy a bunch of archive sets individually and eliminate the uncertainty and need to nag Hywel with monthly personal requests. Or should I take that money and become a member for a few more months, gaining access to more things than I would buying everything singly, and getting nice surprises every day for a while, but risking the archives I want not turning up without a lengthy process of personal requests. Any thoughts on this issue from anyone would be helpful. Thank you for your time. And thank you Hywel for sharing such beautiful images.
