Hi all (I say all but have noticed a decrease in the number of people regularly posting on this forum – shame!)

This weekend I saw Peter Jacksons re-take on King Kong and have to say I am well impressed. All of the cimematographic brilliance of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and with a story my girlfriend understood (sorry – but I could not take her to the final two parts – I had to watch the first twice at the cinema the first time I was interrupted every 5 minutes with someone asking which odd looking little bloke was which!!!).

I guess all RE regulars will watch the film in eager anticipation for ‘the scene’ where the beauty is prsented to Kong – I will not spoil it for you but just think Naomi Watts dangling by restrained wrists and barefoot (as she remains for much of the film – barefoot I mean). A must see!

This got me thinking – how about a regular feature where RE models are used to recreate famous bondage and DID scenes from movies. I guess I have kicked it off with a beauty restrained waiting to be fed to Kong (now who plays the big ape…..!!!) – and will throw another one in with the scene in Thunderball (big bond fan) where Domino is caught below deck with bonds camera/geiger counter bound on a bed by belts where she is tortured by “the scientific application of heat and ice”. It all fits perfectly with the ‘elegance bound’ ethic that this site sets itself and which continues to make it the best bondage website around.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas

    Cavalier Driver

(Recently Dr. Cavalier Driver – the Dr. resulting in a lack of funds and the selling of the car – thus Dr. Ex-Cavalier Driver – its all becomming a bit of a mouthfull!!!)

Ps. Hywell – Congrats on the recent batch of new models arriving on the site – how you find them I never know – but well done!

PPs. Lets get behind these forums – they used to be really well used – Belle has not had a message in about 6 months!!!

I can’t wait to see King Kong! That barefoot bondage scene is in the trailer (and is definitely going to be a freeze-frame moment when it comes out on DVD :jumping ). It is great to hear that she remains barefoot for most of the film!!! Droooool! 🙂

Very interesting idea about re-creating famous bondage scenes. I’ve also got a soft spot for Thunderball, and even more so for the Jane Seymour bondage scene in Live and Let Die. Anyone else got any particular favourites?

This is the sort of thing that should become more and more feasible. I have a studio now, and enough space that I can set up a fairly complicated set downstairs and still have enough “normal” ones upstairs to make efficient use of a day of shooting without ending up with six sets on the same background. I’m still gulping at the size of my VISA bill having got the studio up and ready, but as we get into next year and the cash flow smooths out, I can start thinking about making more ambitious sets and props (as well as more bondage gear, more metal cuffs, more two-girl shoots, better video lighting, and better microphones and sound for the videos).

I’d have to be a little careful how I presented things- don’t want to infringe anyone’s copyright. Plus I don’t think I can manage an animatronic or CGI King Kong hand… but we’ll see what we can do… a sinister human sacrifice temple is well within the bounds of possibility though!

Thanks for posting on the forum. I do try to keep things active here when I can, but when I have been shooting flat out for months like at the moment I end up just answering rather than suggesting discussions… come on guys, let me know what you think!

    Cheers, Hywel.

P.S. congrats on the Dr! What’s your doctorate in? (Mine was particle physics, in case anyone was wondering)

P.P.S. a lot of models contact me these days, in fact far more than I could ever work with… although to be honest some of the ones who email me are clueless, obviously just scattergun emailing every photographer in the world… I’ve lost count of the number of emails which start “I’m from Sticksville USA but I am planning to move to L.A. next month will you shoot with me?” Now I know there’s not a huge fanfare on the site saying I am based in the UK, but all my posting on model/photographer sites say I am… get the facts first, ladies!

I agree with keeping the forum more lively. And the suggestion of re-creating movie scenes is OK by me. Although I rather think the point of this great site is to do the scenes the right way, as opposed to Hollywood’s way.

My favorite movie scene is from the low budget Terminator Woman. The bad girl loses in a martial arts fight, and while she is on her knees, her ex-boyfriend/cop comes along, handcuffs her & takes her to jail.

… well, I’ve just seen King Kong.

Naomi Watts is GORGEOUS, and the barefoot bondage scene is great! Well worth watching.

Can’t really say the same for the rest of the film. It felt VERY slow to me (it is over three hours long, whereas the 1933 original is a much pacier 100 minutes). Lots of irrelevant backstory at the beginning, and every fight and chase scenes seems to go on far too long. “If a fight between King Kong and a T-Rex is exciting, a fight between King Kong and THREE T-Rex’s must be three times as good!” seems to be the film’s philosophy.

Shame, because I really wanted to like it. There’s a great movie in there if only it was edited down to a sensible length (but don’t cut the drool-inducing barefoot bondage scene, please! :newangel )

Anyone else seen it? What did you think?

    Cheers, Hywel.

I just watched the original 1933 version last nite on turner classic movies and the bondage scene in it is pretty good because her struggles against the ropes look real.

I really liked it. I can’t wait for the directors cut to see what was removed. 😀

I liked that its paced like a Aussie flick. (Other then Mad Max. 🙂 ) They take the time to set up an atmosphere.

Oh dear that must make me a really sad child of the videogame/music video generation…

I found it SLOW SLOW SLOW 🙁

An even longer director’s cut doesn’t bear thinking about. I’d like to see a “exciting cut” where all the extraneous scenes were cut and all the fight/CGI sequences were reduced to sensible length. Running with dinosaurs, fighting multiple T-rex and the endless pit of the spider sequences had me actually yawning and looking at my watch I am ashamed to say.

I really think it was in need of a serious edit down to 2 hours maximum.

    Hywel.
