I was just wondering – don’t even know if it is possible – if Hywel has ever considered an Elegance network passport, such that for an increased fee you could obtain access to other sites (I guess the way the sites currently are set out this may be just RE and Jasmine’s site).
I have often flitted between RE and Jasmine’s site. My previous student income and current job-seeking – sweet FA -income can not run to two subscriptions running in parallel, but one increased subscription, less expensive than the sum of the individual sites could be viable (you would both therefore get subscription money all the time as opposed to a/my occasional share).
As I say it is just an idea and Hywel would have to say whether it would be workable – but would anyone else be interested in such a scheme.

Yeh we have asked our web host/billing provider about it. Are more people interested in this? If so I can chase it up some more. They said it could be possible although would require some work.
I guess I feel a bit reluctant about it because some people (WRONGLY!) say that Jasmine’s site is just a Restrained Elegance spin-off, and that might reinforce that impression. I want people to give Jasmine full credit for all the work she does running her site- they are her ideas, her words, her pictures… she processes everything. All I do is to take some of the photos and videos at her direction, and help out with some of the webmastering chores.
But… if people would genuinely take the opportunity to join both sites for a reduced rate rather than choosing one or the other, I’ll talk it over with Jasmine and see if we think it is something we should chase up.

This is certainly something that would interest me. As with most people I have to pick and choose which sites I can spend time and money on and have never been able to afford both here and Jasmine’s.
I think that’s a great idea. On the subject of Jas’s site though and how people think It’s a spin off…..
…. Its probably cause It looks alot like RE. I mean, It used to be near identical, so it has become more individual, but the general look and feel of the site still just says “RE”.

I know the navigation is kinda similar, I had hoped that Jasmine’s redesign made it look and feel quite different.
I guess the fact is that we are using the same underlying technology for the sites (my suite of scripts which means we don’t actually have to be there at midnight each day to upload the new day’s update) which imposes some constraints on us. Similarly, we use the same forum software (although we each customised the look). I didn’t think it was so similar that people would say Jasmine’s site was “just” a spin-off of mine.
Any suggestions what we can do about it? Or is it not actually a bad thing?
I just hate seeing Jasmine’s very hard work belittled because my site came first or our sites are too similar.
