I didn’t care for the “kidnapped bond traders” set because it was all stockings and too much high heels.

As for the stories, I can mostly ignore them if I don’t like them, which is a good thing because my politics are so very different from yours. Making sly commentary about current or recent events can backfire when a big chunk of your audience disagrees about who the villain of the piece ought to be. And even when they do agree with the commentary, it can still cut too close to home to be entertaining fun.
