The “Minotaur Sacrifice” set really struck a chord – to me the bound, helpless, scantily-clad (or unclad) sacrificial maiden, menaced by monsters or pagan worshippers, is the ultimate damsel in distress. It’s an enduring image, from paintings of Andromeda awaiting her fate, to the more garish covers of comics like “Conan” and “Creepy” and, more recently, “Warlords of Mars – Dejah Thoris.” Great job, and I’d love to see more!

September 20, 2013 at 14:01 #16839Hi Bob,
Thank you so much! I’m really glad that you liked it; the set was my idea because I read a lot of Greek and Roman myths when I was growing up, and I loved all the human-sacrifice themes. So I’m happy you liked this too 🙂 I hoped the rope blindfold wouldn’t put people off; I know it’s not the most beautifying of blindfolds but it felt right cos it was sort of rough and ready 🙂

September 20, 2013 at 21:48 #16840Maybe you can change your stage name to “Andromeda Anderssen”?
On a slightly more serious note, hmm. “Andromeda” might actually be a good (if slightly geeky) stage name for a bondage model.
September 20, 2013 at 21:48 #16841The “rough and ready” blindfold and gag were perfectly in keeping with the theme, and worked just fine!
Here are more links to art related to the Andromeda myth, mostly on Wikipedia:

Of all of them here the Edward Poynter painting from 1869 (in the first post) is probably my favorite; there’s just something about a nude woman with her hands tied behind her back, especially when she’s in peril. . . .
As for “Andromeda” as a stage name, well, why not? Those in the audience who understand the reference might get a kick out of it.
September 22, 2013 at 01:38 #16842Or my own version that I did some years back:

Bonus geek points if it’s a black model.
October 1, 2013 at 18:38 #16843Who saw Catherine Oxenberg in the “Lair of the white worm”? If I remember rightly, she was suspended by the wrists over a deep shaft, with a man-eating monster at the bottom.
October 1, 2013 at 20:00 #16844I remember that ..very hot.
A re-interpretation or re-inactment would be great.
October 14, 2013 at 15:04 #16845Minotaur sacrifice is in todays top 10 and I just want to say this is one of my favorite RE sets.
How about another similar Andromeda type set.
I re-watched an old horror movie yesterday, Night of the seagulls, and it gave me some ideas.
Start the set with the model at home. She’s nervous, tonight is the night of the ritual.
Somewhere the village elders are deciding who the sacrifice will be. Is it a lottery, do they pick the most beautiful? In any way there is no escape. The roads are closed, the boats guarded, the woods watched. All she can do is wait.
Then there is a knock at the door. She knows who it is. She hesitates breathing heavy. The knocking is louder. She slowly walks to the door. She unlocks the door takes a deep breath and opens it. She steps outside.
