Speaking of which, I’ve brought this up before but how do people feel about the language in the captions on these sets? I know they’re entirely fictional, and I’d guess that most members probably don’t pay much attention to them. (I don’t.) But I’m still bothered by phrases like “cruelly” and “digging into her sensitive flesh”.

To me, bondage is about taking or voluntarily giving up both physical and psychological control (I’m a switch), not physical pain. And I’m a handcuff fan because I like my bondage strict, i.e., inescapable, not because they can be made painful. Properly applied, you know you’re not getting out so you quickly go into a special kind of subspace in which you just stop struggling and relax, and pain is incompatible with that.

In the local scene, that puts me pretty much all the way to the “B” end of the BDSM scale, and I respect the majority that seems to be more into pain per se. That’s why I ask the question here: do people like or dislike language that suggests painful bondage?
