Just seen the photo set. Loved the story behind it – people do have the habit of making a usually quiet place not quiet just at the wrong time – I have noticed this myself. Still it adds a bit of excitement!
Lovely, lovely photos, what a great idea to get out amongst the bluebells. Super lighting and excellent photography, and what a pretty pair of handcuffs ๐ exquisitely modelled by the ever pulchritudinous Ariel. (I’ll admit that I might have just gone a bit far with the adjectives – reading a thesuraus!)
Glad you had fun with the cuffs ๐
May 12, 2009 at 19:41 #15333Love the set ๐ and that the cuffs match the bluebells.
Didnยดt know you could get purple cuffs, never seen it…

May 15, 2009 at 00:22 #15335Hi All;
CD is having one of his now infamous ‘catch up’ evenings.
Congratulations to Fogane for tracking down the cuffs. What a thrill to see something that you have introduced Hywel and Ariel to crop up on the site.
Other than the handcuffs the most striking thing about the set was the beautiful photography. That light was just wonderful and, along with the beautiful setting, really complimented Ariels natural beauty. It just goes to show that at RE even fairly minimal bondage works really well when combined with beautiful scenery and fab photography. Well done to the three of you therefore.
Technical bit (Ariel can possibly skip the next paragraph)
As a bit of an amateur photographer myself I guess I might have got a little, unnecessarily concerned about the blown highlights in the sky in some of those shots. I guess that was an intentional thing, clearly better to correctly expose for Ariel than the sky?

Welcome back ๐
It’s one of those photographic dilemmas which turns into an artistic decision, I guess. No camera has the dynamic range to capture a fully sunlit cloudy sky and Ariel under the trees backlit with the frontal light coming from a reflector (especially one I was trying to juggle with my left hand). So I had to make a choice to lose something, and I figured highlight detail in a sky that was essentially white cloud anyway wouldn’t be missed so much as detail of the beautiful blonde in the handcuffs ๐
The only way to get the full range of tones would have been to take several shots, bracketed over about seven stops, and use some HDR software to tone map it- would have required Ariel to keep preternaturally still and me to have the camera locked off on a tripod. This is something I’m going to give a go some day for fun and see how it turns out!
Cheers, Hywel.
May 21, 2009 at 08:53 #15337I posted this in another thread but then I realized it really belongs here. Oops.
I’ve always loved the idea of being bound where I might be discovered. One of my favorite youthful fantasies was to be stripped, bound and left in the girls’ locker room at school (I’m a straight male switch).
But it should go without saying that not all fantasies should come true.
I think Ariel and Hywel were somewhat lucky that the police didn’t show up after the jogger encountered her handcuffed amongst the bluebells.
Or at least they would have had they been in the US. I’m not sure which would be the lesser offense, a sex-oriented photography session with a consenting model or a true kidnapping. And I’m only half joking when I say that. I dunno about the UK, but this country is absolutely stark raving mad about anything and everything even remotely sex-related.
Aside from that, consent is absolutely basic to the BDSM game, and that includes spectators and potential spectators as well as participants.

I regularly use Photomatrix Pro and its well worth the $$ there’s also a free version which watermarks your images.
..just thought I’d mention it..

May 25, 2009 at 08:42 #15339Yes, I’ve just started playing with photomatix myself.
Have you tried using it on images with a model, Merlin? I’m worried that she’d have to stay preternaturally still for the series of exposures.
Cheers, Hywel.

actually no, mainly architecture to be honest..
You’d probably need a static model and a tripod for a good bracketing, however, I find I get reasonable results by simply processing the same raw 3 times, i.e. one +0ev and +1 / -1 to give a set for mapping..
Will give it a try..

I would have to disagree with you. As long as you are careful and are not too odvious with it I bondage in public places will normally go without notice even in the US. I live in the DC area and have had many photoshoots where the model was tied up or naked in public areas. Most people do not care and even if they do just be gone from the area if the police are called. One good thing about the US it takes forever for the police to respond.
