There may be some performance issues on the site this morning (Monday 22nd Oct).

We updated one of our image processing libraries on the server and it seems to be running really slowly generating thumbnails for the latest galleries. A job that used to complete in minutes looks like it might take a few hours, and the drain on CPU cycles may impact your browsing speed for things like advanced search which query the database directly.

Sorry about that. Once the current batch have processed we’ll look into the performance issues and figure out what has caused this sudden performance hit.

We are also planning to move to a faster server, which we were about to do anyway because the site has nearly outgrown the server’s disk space. Again. (The perils of all those full size JPEGS and 1080p video clips being added each month for your pleasure 😉 !)
