Hi Everyone,
Whee! It has taken months, but we just exchanged contracts on our new house today, and will be moving at the end of next week!
We’ll be saying goodbye to the crowded south east of England and moving to mid-Wales. The crazy property prices mean that we’re able to afford a weird old house with lots of character which we love but which we also think will make a fabulous film studio for Restrained Elegance, Silk Soles and Elegance Studios.
Although this has been in the works for ages, the actual move is now pretty rushed and last-minute. We will likely not have internet access at the new house for some while, and mobile phone reception is a bit dodgy there too. So please bear with us if we take longer getting back to you for a while. The sites are all queued up with updates, of course, we just may take a while to get back to emails etc..
Wish us luck!
Hywel & Ariel
Welcome to the Country side, poor mobile reception, but do not climb onto the roof to get better reception.Internet speeds are often not fast, cars have empty fuel tanks when they are 1/4 full. The power is known to fail so keep the storm lanterns ready and torches by the bed.
But it is great clean air water at the bottom of the garden, which provides fresh produce and you will soon find plenty of locations or make them within the house, but nothing major as the listing people do not like it.
Good Luck
John
Looks like we will be without broadband for over two weeks 🙁 Lots of time in internet cafes and wifi hotspots ahead, especially as my current mobile phone provider doesn’t seem to have any coverage at the new place! Will change over to same network as Ariel since she had signal in new house!
Hywel.
Congratulations! That’s wonderful news; from talking to Ariel, I know how much this means to you both. Wishing you the happiest times in your new adventure. Can’t wait to hear all about it!
Greetings from New Jersey,
I just wanted to say to you both that I hope the move went well (seems to have from some of the twitter comments) and to wish you both all manner of good luck with getting settled in the new home and getting your lives back to normal as quickly and uneventfully as possible. I hope the new place is everything you wanted and that you get a lot of pleasure from it with no hidden problems. Any plans for showing the members around “Castle RE” a bit when you get settled in? The two outdoor shots just up on Twitter from your property look like you have found a wonderful setting to enjoy.
Know it’s going to take time to get to get the services needed to support RE installed and running properly (broad band in particular) and to set things up for “proper” photo and video shoots. It will be interesting to see the new what the new in house shooting locations look like once you have time to shoot at the new home. It always spices things up when the locations change a bit. I just noticed that you just updated the custom shootings page with locations available in the new home. I’ll be sure to get a request or two in to you shortly.
Again. All good luck with the new home and will be looking forward to the continuing excellence that is RE.
All the best and be well.
Cheers,
Jeff
