Hi there,
I’ve been a member for a couple of months, and recently took to checking out the forums. I’ve done some thinking, and I’ve decided to plump in with an idea I’ve been having for some time now. Delete it, lambast it, laugh it off or embrace it wholeheartedly as you will. 😉
We have RE Nights, which is (if I’ve grasped the concept) basically Ariel submitting to her fantasies (which are dark). Ever thought about a kind of Restrained Elegance Days? (“It’s a pune, or a play on words.”) Basically, where Nights is about Ariel submitting to a strict and sometimes cruel Hywel, this would be more of a sitcommy thing, closer in mood to reality as it were, with Ariel doing mundane things like watching TV, doing housework, eating dinner…
Tied up, of course. And wearing very few clothes. The thing would be that this is never brought up. Like the laugh track and happy endings, it’s just a part of reality. I mean, Ariel could ask to be released now and then, but this would be the same as asking for, say, a vacation to the Bahamas; it might happen, but not bloody likely. At the same time, there’s a bit of pride involved from Ariel – “You need any help with that?” “No, thank you. I could do this with my arms tied.”
As I’m writing this, btw, I’m not thinking just doing this in chains; that’s too easy. Arms behind, elbows together, maybe feet together as well for added emphasis. It would add beautifully to the surrealism of it all. Imagine vacuuming while you’re tied to the vacuum cleaner with your feet together, drinking juice through a tape gag (The Transporter, anyone?) or having snacks with some girlfriends with everyone naked and frogtied (guest stars galore!).
So, what do you think? Am I on to something good, or should it be put in a box and dumped at sea?

I think it is a very good idea well worth embracing wholeheartedly – and I think you have some great ideas for sets regardless of whether they would be included in a Restrained Elegance Days style concept or not.
I always love those types of photosets / videos as they seem so natural and have a lovely ‘tone’ (if that makes sense!). I have never really thought of them as the ‘anti-RE nights’ though but it does make sense. The closest thing I think that is currently on the site is Hannah painting the studio – http://www.restrainedelegance.com/members/gal.php?id=2271 Have you checked that out yet?
I love the idea of several models tied up whilst watching TV, fighting over the remote and eating popcorn… or cake! 😆

Hi,
I think it is a really, really good idea. We’ve touched on the idea a few times in various things we’ve shot, but you’ve crystallized a few essential features in a very clear way here- like the ropes and nudity being as much a part of the world as laugh tracks and happy endings for TV sitcom.
We can’t start shooting it for a bit because we have the rest of the Bondage X Factor shoots to get through, so give us a few months to get through that and get started, but I really like the idea so we will see what we can do!

Kate, I have indeed seen the Hannah set before, and might have taken unconscious inspiration from it when I was writing down my idea. The only thing that would have brought it closer to the image in my head would maybe have been less clothes – ie, lose the sweater, keep everything else (though that might have been… interesting what with the paint and all). 😉
It does fit very much in with the established style of many shoots, which was in part the idea – RE works really well, so there’s no fixing involved, at most a new vax job. Glad to hear it’s being considered for shooting! 🙂
Incidentially, if “a few months” translates into “late spring/early summer”, that could open up the great outdoors (or at least a garden) for such things as – just at the top off my head – barbeques, skinny dips, trampolines and chain-gang sightseeing trips (“this is Anderson’s Field, where Earl Hywel defeated the Vikings in 1070…”).
Right, I’ll stop now. 😉
And the cake idea is genius. Gotta have cake. 😉

Mmmm, cake and rope… And now I’ve just had a rather silly idea involving cake and bondage which Hywel will no doubt never forgive me for, but it’ll be entertaining. Rather like the idea I came up with on the location shoot in November. 😉

I have just had a flashback to a chat session where we toyed with the idea of doing a bondage picnic foodfight set in Sweden…. we should totally revisit that bad boy.

Hello and I hope everyone is doing well.
I think this topic is a great path for RE to follow. I’ve seen some videos and photo sets on some other sites about “everyday” life with the ladies in question being in some form of bondage (making pizza in handcuffs and leg irons while tethered by their collars, showering while chained, cleaning house chained and such) as well as some sites that have their models out in public in light bondage (generally collars and/or handcuffs). I really enjoy them and I would love to see RE’s take on this. Doesn’t matter to me if the ladies are clothed or not.
Kate, I love the idea of a bondage picnic turning into a food fight. You definitely need to follow through on that one. There have also been discussions on the forum as well as attempts at remote location shoot to do a bondage dinner party. I hope the RE team will be able to put together at some point in the near future as I know if will be a classic.
Northerner’s ideas of Ariel’s cooking video and of the chain gang sight seeing trip both sound like a lot of fun. Don’t forget the old forum idea of a World Bondage Games with the models competing in several events while in bondage.
Anyway, I’ll certainly be interested in seeing RE’s spin on a couple of topics. A lot to play around with there.

… I realised editing a video yesterday that we do have one or two coming up which fit pretty well into RE days. Perhaps not 100% right with the nice details to tie it all together, but the basic idea of bondage being all pervasive as part of the world set up and the girls not really commenting on it.
The first one is a video of Amy Hunter resolutely trying to get dressed whilst wearing globe cuffs (which are seriously restrictive, let me tell you). Then there’s one of Katy Cee laying the table for a dinner party in bondage, and one of Fi Stevens doing the washing up in collar and cuffs.
So I think I’ll use these to “pilot” the RE days, and Ariel and I will do a dedicated shoot for it when we can schedule one. Look out for the Amy Hunter video in March, with the rest to follow!

Hmm, Getting dressed in globe cuffs really does sound difficult. Come to think of it, How do you put a top while wearing any kind of handcuffs on at all. I shall look forward to seeing that…
So, what’s the punishment for messing up Hywels Hasseblad (or any other photographic gear) during a food fight?!

It can be done but is very very difficult if the top has sleeves and/or the cuffs are reasonable tight. About the only types that work well in this scenario is either a tube type top or a halter style one that ties behind the neck.

Of course, When I first read the post, I imagined her with her arms cuffed behind her back, With the globe cuffs, I’m pretty sure this would make the task more or less impossible.

Er yes, for those thinking that “only stockings, suspender belt, skirt and leash” is not all that impressive, I would invite you to try it yourself. Especially given that the stockings were seamed nylons. Augh!!

As for trying it, I’m not convinced that stockings (Seamed or not) and a skirt would suit me at all…. 😛
