Hello! Thanks so much to all the lovely people who joined up over Christmas, and welcome to Restrained Elegance. Thanks also, as always, to the existing Members whose continued support means that we’re gearing up for a super new year, with new models shooting with us later this week, existing favourites returning to shoot with us this month, and three location trips already in our diaries.
I’m excited to be working with Restrained Elegance too throughout 2013, as a model, rigger, video editor and script writer. I’m definitely still keenest on modelling, but rigging comes a close second for me despite my continuing to display a great big lack of domliness. Actually, I’m quite happy about that; it’d cause all sorts of problems for my relationship with Hywel if I started wanting to switch 🙂 And furthermore, I’m not massively keen on either the stereotype that ‘all sub models end up turning dom in the end’ or the idea that you have to be naturally dominant in order to do good rope rigging.
So please do let me know if there’s anything specific you’d like to see me model for Restrained Elegance, or any ties you’d particularly like me to learn for you. Hywel’s already requested that I try Rich’s idea (which he posted over Christmas in ‘Suggestions’ later this week.

I just saw the “waitress tie” set, and the comment on how much you hated it. You can blame me for it: IIRC, I was the one who suggested it. I won’t suggest that you be put into it for future sets, but does your hatred extend to putting other models into the waitress tie?
And would you hate it less if we came up with another name for it?

Hi Lurker, ooh golly no, I’d be more than happy to tie it on other models, and in all honesty I wouldn’t refuse to do it myself either, it just isn’t a favourite 😉
Name-wise, that’s an interesting subject for me. ‘Waitress-tie’ doesn’t upset me enough to feel angry or anything, it just doesn’t actively conjure up a picture that happens to fit my kink. But OH MY LORDY, I discovered that a spanking position which I’m perfectly happy to do is called ‘Diaper Position’ by some spanking producers.
This absolutely freaks me out, and now I refuse to do it unless they promise to call it something without the connotations of a)early childhood and b)incontinence. I call it ‘Legs Elevated’ which I think sounds much more elegant and sublime 🙂
So yes, sometimes the name makes a difference, and I’d probably like ‘Waitress Tie’ better if it was called ‘Beautiful Princess Tie’ but it doesn’t make me actually want to howl in anger.
Well, I called it the “waitress tie” because I was trying to get across what it looked like, without bothering with an elegant name. However, I wouldn’t mind at all if it were re-named to something like “the harem yoke.”
That would invoke the idea of a beautiful new captive presented to the harem-master, with hands in front and visible without their being able to cover anything important, while still looking less crude than a neck yoke.
