Hi All;
As I know you all panic when I don’t post here for a while I thought it best to let you know that I am going to be away over Christmas and will likely next get a chance to check out this forum early next year.
Can I take the opportunity to wish all who make RE the fantastic site that it is a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Of particular importance Hywel – thank you so much for your work this year on the site, I am continually amazed at how Restrained Elegance continues to maintain its consistent high quality, sticking always to those original values that keep all of us coming back. It has been yet another fantastic year to be a member of the greatest bondage website on, well, the web!?! – your efforts are appreciated. This of course also applies to Kate who we have been hearing more of this year and, as we proved earlier in the year, produces almost indistinguishable results from the master himself! Best mention Chanta whilst I am at it as well – please hurry back to the UK! RE + Chanta Rose has proven to be a winning combination.
To the models. Though great, we all see that Hywel and Kate would struggle to achieve the great results they do were it not for the fantastic subjects they get to shoot. This year has seen a whole raft of new faces on the site (who’d have thought the bondage X factor would have been so incredibly successful?) and all have helped make this something of a ‘golden age’ of RE models. Thank you all. It almost seems wrong to single one out, but I guess I have to. Though we often give Slavegirl Ariel ‘bondage bunny’ some light-hearted abuse on the forum we can not loose sight of the contribution that Ariel Anderssen – the international jet-setting model – puts into the site. It is hard to imagine the site without Ariel anymore and particularly her contributions to this forum (above and beyond the call of duty). Thank you so very much – we must meet up in 2008.
Finally to all of you guys reading this – fellow forum buddies. Thanks for keeping this forum alive in 2007 – we have had some really good chats on here this year and have developed into a little community, we have even introduced a new model to the site (I refer of course to Pling) and our influence is often now seen in the sets that Hywel and Kate shoot. Lets hope for more of the same in 2008.

This year does feel like there has been a move from “just me” to the start of a real community based around the site. The posters on the forum have been instrumental in making that happen. Thanks to everyone who has been involved, but as CD says a few people do stand out as making particularly big contributions this year, so many thanks especially to Kate, Chanta, Pling, Steve and Merlin for big contributions on screen and off this year!
Stepping out of the dom/sub role for a moment… Ariel, your presence has really transformed the site and I’d like to add my thanks to CD’s. People may not appreciate that Ariel writes and directs for the site as well as starring in photos and videos, and her contribution in 2007 has been absolutely integral to the continued growth and liveliness of the site and the community. Thank you!

I think everyone will agree that it has been a TREMENDOUS year for the site.
The Bondage X Factor was a stroke of genius and great fun (can we do this again soon, Hywel?), we have seen lots of great debuts from *outstanding* models as well as continued excellence from all of our favourites. We have had 2 successful (and fun) shooting trips and several Tutorial sessions. ‘Queen’ Ariel has become Resident Slavegirl and is, more than ever, an integral part of the site.
Many members have bridged the gap between an online and real life community with real people – especially Pling, Steve and Merlin! The forum is buzzing with intelligent, articulate and insightful posts from members old and new.
Oh and we have achieved a consistent membership of over 1000 members!
Many thanks for keeping me on board this year, Hywel, I have had a blast and am as proud of ever of all that the site has achieved. What a way to recover from the dramas of 2006! How can we top this in 2008?

Gosh, CD, you WERE a bit nice to me there! But please don’t talk about the tickling thing, I HATE it, hate it, hate it, and am hoping to avoid shooting it for the foreseeable future….
Thank you for saying lovely things; I’ve been so happy to work for Restrained Elegance this year, and getting more involved (along with Kate, hooray) on the production side has been really satisfying; I’m looking forward to more collaberative efforts between Hywel, Kate, me and the other models and the members next year.
In a slightly drunken (sherry, mmmm) and sentimental frame of mind, I do want to say how happy I am to be part of the RE community. When I think back to myself at ages 18-23, before I discovered that there were other people into BDSM, I’m amazed how much more fun my life is in this department than I could ever have imagined. And if I’d discovered a site like RE back then, it would have made me so happy to realise that there were communities of intelligent, respectful people who could enjoy BDSM in a light-hearted, friendly kind of way. Now I have disovered it my life is much happier and I feel much more comfortable with myself. Hoorah for RE 🙂
