The list of things where I agree with Hywel wrt bondage photosets:

Secure bondage – Hywel’s three rules:
    – 1) She must not be able to run away.
    – 2) She must not be able to kick me in the nuts.
    – 3) She must not be able to get out (at least not without a good ten minutes of working at the knots, anyway).

    BARE FEET
Did I mention bare feet? 🙂

    “Glamour” style photos
    – large
    – sharply focused
    – generally well-lit
    – not distorted by various “stupid amateur photographer tricks”
    – taken so as to flatter the captive’s appearance
    – sumptuous, glamorous, elegant backgrounds, rather than industrial-grotty

Models project emotions other than pure & simple fear
    – they may be angry, sultry, pleased, haughty, annoyed, wistful, but not “terrified stupid.”

Variation. For all that I’m a worry-wart about RE drifting away from its current center into harsher areas of BDSM, I do like that experiments and different ideas are tried out.

    Clothing
    – good mix of clothed & nude sets (I’m happy with the current proportion, anyway. I’m guessing that Hywel is too, or else it wouldn’t be the current proportion.)
    – use of fancy clothing & medieval costumes.
    – going easy on the “high-fetish” costumes

Glasses – we both like (Just don’t have a secretary wearing them…)

Pussy hair – we both generally prefer a neatly trimmed set of pubes over the shaved/bald look.

Gags – we both can take or leave them
    – I like to see them when I like to see them, which turns out to be 25-35% of the time. Don’t know what Hywel’s preferred proportion is, but at least it isn’t 100%
    – smaller ballgags preferred over big ones (I can’t find where Hywel mentions his preferences wrt types of gags, but I seem to remember mostly agreeing with him on that list).

    Hywel’s turn-offs – mine too
    – Tacky, tawdry, or cheap.
    – Underage play
    – Excretory bodily functions and other stuff that we both find a little unsanitary or off-putting rather than erotic (e.g. smoking). (For me, drool & excretory bodily functions are a really big turn-off.)
    – Fem-dom/male-sub. (Although I think I differ from Hywel in that I am willing to go with an occasional “women tickling men” scenario as an exception.)
    – Emphasis on genitals and gynecology rather than the person, eyes, face, emotions.
    – Rubber and latex and fetishy clothes. They are fine, and can be very striking, but at best a little goes a long way.
    – Inconsistent or lazy staging & random juxtaposition of elements. I suspect this rubs Hywel the wrong way more than it does me, but I’m just as glad to see it avoided too.

There are probably some additional things that I’ve missed.
