    Hi everyone,
I have a technical problem. I sometimes safe some of the sets on the site to my hard drive. I encrypted these sets to make sure my girlfriend doesnt find them, I am not really sure she would like these pictures (well actually I am kinda sure she wouln’t).
But recently I found out my computer somehow changed several map icons to these pictures. I have no idea where the computer stores these things, becouse even when I reencrypt the files the icon is still a tied up girl.
It’s not only one map thats affected, its almost every folder in my documents. I resetted some folders, by right clicking on them en restoring the original image manually, but with folders like my music and my pictures that doesn’t work.
I realise there are probably not a lot of computer geniuses around here, but maybe someone knows just what i need to know.
My girlfriend hasn’t found out yet, but with a tied up girl on almost every folder it’s only a matter of time, so please help me.

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Gr. Daedra

i dont have an answer to your problem – i belive the best way to keep stuff a litlle private arond the house is to use an extern usb harddisk for – well – some kind of files – and never have them on the pc-s built in drives.
    Any other ideas??

Thanks for the advice, but I always keep “some kind of files” (as you put it very nicely) on an external harddrive, incrypted in a volume that can be unlocked by mounting it as a virtual hard drive. (for other people with this problem: I use a program called truecrypt, it’s free and works very well).

I solved my problem, I used a somewhat drastical method. I preformed a low-level format on my harddrive. I had to reinstall windows and everything, but the entire stupid thing was screwed up anyway. I didn’t find out where the computer stored the files, but I did get rid of them, and luckily nobody found out.

I hope you people wheren’t annoyed by me asking for advice on such a technical problem. But I think you would be the only people who would understand the difficulty of the situation.
