I would like to say thanks for the story behind the set. Its a good reminder to those of us who are less-experienced riggers/players that thinks can go wrong, even for experienced people. Glad to hear that there was no serious damage done to Ariel.
May 10, 2008 at 10:29 #14450Thanks, Keith.
It was one of my worst moments in seven years of running the site, and I thought I owed it to people to say what had happened.
And I am also just glad that Ariel wasn’t actually injured.
Hywel.
May 10, 2008 at 21:55 #14451It would be a tragedy! Ariel is so cute! 😉

Well it stands as a good warning to all of us about the responsibility we all undertake when our “sub/model” relies on us for their safety and well-being. An experienced “sub/model” will have a better chance of warning us if things are going wrong but sometimes even experience doesn’t warn them of approaching problems. I know some less-experienced “subs” don’t want to admit they are having problems as they see it as a weakness so it is the “dom’s” responsibility to ensure any risks are reduced.
May 13, 2008 at 19:41 #14453Thanks Keith 🙂
It was a NASTY moment when I thought that perhaps the rope had actually cut me in half, but I’m fine now, and have no lingering fears of crotchropes 🙂
😀 😀 😀
May 14, 2008 at 07:43 #14454i realy like the warning – especially the parts on breath play. In my medical education we saw several examples of people whith a one way moruge ticket because of just that – well, some did rather extreme stuff but NEVER move a single step in that direction!

Great. Glad that
a) you are fine
b) crotchropes are still “on the menu” 🙂May 20, 2008 at 22:56 #14456Hi;
I am sure I am not alone amongst the RE members in being quite grateful that you didn’t cut Ariel in half by crotchrope! I am sure we will all head the important safety implications of your anecdote – though for my own part would like to report how, unfortunately, rare it is that I find myself passing rope around the underside of a bound, naked model (I think I feel compelled to call you a lucky B*stard in all future posts to this forum).
Since the tale had a happy ending – and I do see how potentially serious a situation it might have been (I would therefore not wish to take anything away from the serious message contained within) I wonder if we could spare a thought for how the heck you might have explained any injuries to the staff at the local accident and emergency department? A dog walking incident – or perhaps an injury sustained whilst bell ringing?

Indeed. Perhaps that should be my new username on the forum? 😆
Hywel.
