That is an interesting concept. I do wonder how many (fake) tantrums there will be from the models though. I can just see it “why did I not raise the most money? Why did they bid more for her than for me?” *wicked giggles*
I also loved the description for this set. I could just “see” exactly this conversation happening, this demanding something before it is ready, and then complaining that it is not ready.
Hywel, this is definitely a brilliant way of dealing with this problem, and it is always good to make a success out of an apparent problem 😀
There is a story here? I have admired a selection of drawings being posted to RE, but I was not aware that any of the recent postings formed part of a story.

I think the music works very well, it gives everything a very dramatic, fast paced, get your heart rate going feel.
I am slightly worried by the title, and the reference to Hollywood style though… how long before Ariel feels that she is not only queen, but also a Hollywood starlet as well? 🙂
Turning to the file formats, looking at both the WMV and the mp4 versions, the mp4 feels nicer. Is it just me, or is it handling the fast movement of the initial chase scene much better?
I am wondering how much of this difference is down to the increased file size, 15 verses 11 meg is a good sized difference.

Hopefully your interview will serve as a useful template for the others. As for nagging them… you could always suggest to Kate that you lock her in the cage and keep her there until she has finished her interview. After all, this worked very well for Sammie *radiates helpful innocence* :kitty
Stories and bondage stories, one thing I have noticed over the years is that a lot of “bad” (in my personal and opinionated judgement 🙂 ) bondage stories fall into one of two common traps:
a) they contain no bondage. Sometimes they do contain some bondage, but you have to read so much story to find it that I give up long before discovering any bondage. Something of a flaw when the story is put forward as a bondage story.
b) they don’t contain anything other than bondage. Bondage is good, lots of bondage is good, but when the plot, the point, the characters, everything else is missing and there is just some bondage… this can work, but normally it does not.
Stepping beyond this, there is a rather interesting question of what makes a bondage story popular. This seems to be quite different to good.
I have seem some really good bondage stories, full of bondage, character, plot, human interest, sexy descriptions, get ignored by the “masses”. I have also seen relatively poor quality stories get a load of attention and interest simply because they happen to focus on a scene / idea that is popular, and the general failings of the story don’t seem to bother people.
Much as I do love a good bondage story, I am not sure if they are a good fit for RE.
Picture stories, where half of the “content” is the pictures, and they are just wrapped in a bit of text, these might work a lot better.
Some of the RE sets already lean in this direction, where you can put Hywel’s words together with the images and a story emerges.
lurker this might be a “A half-baked idea” but it is still interesting 🙂
I suspect it would generate very little though, it can take quite a lot of work and effort to write even a short story.
How about a “caption” though? Something between a couple of words and a few lines of text, something that sums up the pictures and adds something to them?
Really alternative text to go where Hywel’s words normally go. That might get enough people interested to produce some suggestions and entries.
As an example, look at the sample pictures of Ariel in the snow that Hywel has just posted. The caption:
“We are sure to catch an abominable snowman with this bait”
might work well for the pictures of a naked Ariel all tied up in the snow 😀
I really liked this movie for several reasons.
Partly it just stands out in my memory, since it has quite a different style, and a new opening graphic, from the other movies I have seen here. There is already a variety of styles and appearances, this just feels different again, which is quite an achievement 🙂
Kobe looks really sexy and attractive in this movie, and that green dress looks really nice on her 🙂
For me it was the music that really helped, it did a very good job of setting a suitable tone and pace for the movie. This is an area where I feel a lot of online movies really fall down, either no audio, or the audio just does not work well with the visual elements.

I really like the first shot, Ariel has a wonderful outfit, expression, and air for that shot, and that setting… its incredible.

I looked closely at Ariel naked and tied up on the snow and I see she is kneeling on her white coat. She probably needs that protection from the cold! Still it must have been freezing!
The coat hardly shows, you have to actually look for it, and the images really present the image of Ariel naked and bound “alone” in the snow.
The final, behind the scenes, image is really lovely, partly for that wonderful smile on Ariel’s face.
From the look of this the trip was a real success, and you have loads of wonderful pictures! :cheers

Like everyone else I am really taken with the 3rd picture. It is an incredible image, it looks so wonderful, that light, those colours, The way Ariel stands there, stands out, so sharp and crisp in the middle of it all…

I do like that wooden box in part 4, such a simple idea, but it seems to have been put together really nicely.
Jumping down a bit, picture number 9, that soft focus? Well soft feel to the picture, it is rather different, and it is really interesting.
The picture after it, the outfit puts me in middle of little red riding hood tied to a tree 🙂 There is something so sexy and appealing about that outfit *yummy*
About half way down, the school teacher with the side slit skirt, that is such a sexy pose, so powerful, appealing, inviting and teasing!
The cage on the straw, I really like how the straw adds to the look and feel of the environment.

Hywel’s note, to me it makes sense he has posted this. I suspect only a tiny handful of site members ever pass through this forum, or read it.
A lot of people are very ignorant about bondage, BDSM, and what goes with it. Against this background of ignorance and misinformation restating the “obvious” is often a good thing.
Being interested in bondage really is NOT the same thing as being informed on safe words, respect, safety, or anything else.
Having watched the movie I actually found it less unsettling than some of the earlier parts, BUT that is due to having chatted with Ariel on the chat room, and having seen her on the forum. I have a better concept of her as a person as a result, more context for the video. Plus I have Hywel’s reassuring words in my head.
One question does occur to me though. Does anyone have any form of definition of the term “Restrained Elegance slave girl”?
That sounds silly at first, but think about it. What is actually meant by this?
In the video look at 3:15 to 3:20, it seems that to Ariel the terms Queen and official slave girl are interchangeable. Hence I am wondering at the definition of slave girl. I suspect that, as always, if you ask 6 people you will get 6 different definitions.
So perhaps an “official” definition would help?
tancrede a collar in public, it really depends on what is meant by this. Stand in the middle of a deserted beach in winter, with no one around, wearing a collar under your coat… I hope you would agree this is both public and safe.
In isolation a collar is simply a piece of jewellery. I see your point, and safety, location, and actions all need to be carefully considered. At the same time I somehow feel that a collar, in isolation, should not be a problem. Perhaps I am showing my own ignorance?
Is a scarf around your neck a problem? What about a choker? A neckless? I wear two loose chains around my neck, they hold jewellery. I have been wearing them in public, sometimes on show, for years. I am simply asking where is the line drawn?
A collar with a lead I would say was a very different issue, due to the lead.
Just reading the poll options, I am rather amused by “Ariel should be allowed to call herself Queen Ariel at all times”. Remembering some of the earlier video’s of her time in France, she is already doing so! Even while proclaiming her role of slave she is also proclaiming her role of Queen.
Perhaps there should be an extra poll option, Ariel is punished every time she calls herself Queen Ariel in the presence of either Hywel or Kate?
After all, someone has to stand up for and defend these two long suffering innocents!!! *innocent expression number 37*

The painted out sunglasses, I have seen the idea mentioned before, but I am not sure anyone else has mentioned using it so successfully! It does sound like the two of you had a very good time. It was clearly helpful having access to this place.

Ariel with a collection of kittens, I do like that idea 😀 You are quite right about the claws of course. Still, given how naughty Ariel can be, perhaps not that many clothes? It would help if there was only one or two kittens, so if there was a problem with the claws, or the kittens were just to much of a handful they would be easy to catch and contain.

I did not reply to that since I have never read enough of the Gor books to have any real views on the subject. I recall reading and rather liking the very first book, but I never got beyond that.
I did start looking at the link you posted, but I did not get very far into it. I did not comment since I have been “burnt” before. In my experience authors can be “funny” about comments on their work.
Your tastes in stories sound similar to my tastes. There are a lot of overly dark and unpleasent stories out there, which I do my best to avoid.

Your picture collection is interesting. Are these pictures you have found online over the years? I hardly ever see cat’s in pictures with tied up women. Off hand I can only think of a handful of examples that I have seen over the years.
I don’t know, if no one else turns up I would have sammie all to myself… it may be selfish, but that is rather appealing 😀
On the subject of bright, since Fogane has mentioned it, some of the pictures, e.g.

really stood out, due to the very strong lighting on Mel’s face, while the rest of her was relatively dark. Personally I am not a fan of this effect.
Then again I never read fashion magazines, so I am not sure what look they like to go for.

At the risk of sounding, and being, cynical how do you hope to get enough replies to draw any useful conclusions?
If you look at the forum there are 10, 20 semi-active people. Since these are a “self selected” group you cannot assume that they are representative of the sites overall membership.
Look at the bottom of any of the sets, where there is an option to vote. 20 votes in total often seems like a lot of votes, and I suspect a lot more than 20 people look at any given set.
This seems like a good place to ask about the colour of the light.
I have just read your posted information on the equipment, and come away both slightly overwhelmed with information 🙂 and not really any the wiser. I understood most of the words, and the pictures were nice 🙂 but this is SO far outside of my experience that it did not mean a lot.
Back to colour, in some of the updates, and yesterdays “Warmth by the fire” is an ideal example, there is a colour “shift” to everything. Everything seems bathed in warm (orange / red) light. It feels so inviting and very appealing.
Is this because you have used some form of filter on the lighting? On the camera? Is this done afterwards in software? A mixture of the above? Or something else again?
I am just curious 🙂 I do know my pictures only look like that if I am really lucky at sunset when the natural light has this type of colour.

To half answer Kate’s question, my knowledge of and expose to the Signy awards started and ended with a knowledge they existed, and occasionally visiting the website looking for links to bondage story sites.
So from the purely practical point of someone else linking back to RE the site may be useful.
Voting, I had approached this from the point of view of bondage stories. I have seen various story competitions go by over the years, and all of the ones I have seen, and been involved in, getting people to vote is like getting blood out of a stone. Getting swamped by vote riggers is not a serious problem. Getting more than three people to vote, that tends to the the problem *sigh*
Perhaps voter apathy and sheer laziness will save the day? Hardly a scientific or rigours answer though.
I passed on the concers to the person running the contest. We are both active at the same bondage forum, so I know him, but I have nothing to do with the contest. I am just acting as a messenger. He produced this reply:

Short of asking people to enter their social security number or equivalent, no voting system can be 100% perfect. That said, the site employs a number of tactics to prevent cheating. It matches votes by IP address, and thus, a single IP can only vote once a day. While possible for people to vote from multiple IP addresses, the effect will be minimal. A couple extra votes here and there will not amount to much with thousands of people vote every day.
Behind the scenes, there is a good amount of logic that looks for fraudulent activity (similar votes over and over by the same group of IPs, etc…). When this is detected, votes are flagged for review. If upon review they are deemed to be fraudulent, they will be negated without the persons knowledge. In a nutshell, they can work their butt of night and day trying to cheat the system, think they have but only wasted their time.
These are good questions however, and I should probably add them to the FAQ.
