I think most models would agree that their ‘high heel threshold’ is more to do with how beautiful and stylish the shoes are than *any* kind of pain / comfort factor!
For the right shoes and the right occasion, I have worn up to 6″ heels out and about.
I have some gorgeous (but cheap) low heeled shoes that are hideously uncomfortable but some expensive and really high heels that are perfectly balanced and comfortable. This isn’t an excuse or justification but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to shoes!!!Kate x

Before I read your post I didn’t see any problem… Having gone back and looked at this set again and re-read the description, I can see what you mean! I am positively, completely, 100% sure that this was not meant to be read this way: I am sure Hywel will confirm this as soon as he gets back on the forum.

There are a couple of sets on RE that are along these lines – one with Sophia Smith and one with Natasha. There may be more but I just came across those while searching for ‘Handcuff Hogties’.
I was introduced to this concept when Steve shot Sophia’s set in Sweden last year but have yet to shoot or model anything like it. I would quite like to shoot a hogtie with 2 pairs of handcuffs diagonally locked onto opposing wrist / ankle pairings – is that mean of me???? 😉

Wow wow wow – the trailer looks awesome. And just checked out ‘Reverie’ too. Now that does get me extremely excited about video all of a sudden!!!
Funnily enough, I was chatting to a fellow ‘photographer-parent’ at the school gates on Wednesday who has just purchased the 5d Mk 2. He shoots third world documentaries with his and has been *really* impressed with its video capabilities. Having seen both of the above, I can totally see why!!!
On a less techy note, the ‘tone’ of the video is absolutely beautiful – totally Restrained Elegance. Sammie and Ariel look stunning as always – and you look very dapper in it, Hywel!

You have no idea how super-excited I am to see the Bridezilla set with Sammie and Ariel. That was so much fun to shoot!!!!
The other sets of course look fabulous too! The new kit was money well spent wasn’t it?? That set of Sophia outside in the cowgirl boots looks so dramatic! And I love the shot of Ariel outdoors in her animal print and bitgag… and Fi looks very sexy in the pool… Good to see Ariel in rehab back in the archives too – love the ropework.

I told my Mum when I started modelling at university and she was only concerned about me being safe. She loves Restrained Elegance but doesn’t like seeing me gagged. At the time I was doing up to figure nude and she said she didn’t like the thought of me doing that but has overall been quite supportive and proud. My brother and my Dad know I have done some modelling but haven’t really asked me about it.
I don’t judge other people and am very open minded about stuff (I can’t imagine many people modelling or remaining in this industry if they were closed minded and judgemental to be honest!). My parents led by example, so I am never really worried about how they will react to anything. They love me and trust me to make whatever choices that I see fit. I can’t imagine them going mad about anything unless I was putting myself or others in danger or doing something purposely malicious.

Harem girls never get boring – and medieval wenches are an RE trademark surely.
I think RE should reshoot some of the early ‘hammer horror’ esque stuff that featured in early years. Also some of the ‘scooby doo’ scenarios (with dodgy props, of course). I think these could all be shot in a more ‘grown up’ and elegant way now and are definitely worth another pass!

I was wondering what the official name of a certain material was; it is a black adhesive wrap, and it appears similar to medical wrap except for, well, it’s black. I can’t find it in stores with medical wrap, so I was also wondering where I can find said wrap.
Have you tried googling ‘vet wrap’? That comes in black. It was designed for animal injuries / horse leg protection as it only sticks to itself and not to hair etc. It has a kind of ‘crepe papery’ consistency. The other thing I thought of was ‘bondage tape’: that also only sticks to itself but is shiny and plasticky (and not as easy to use as vet wrap as it tends to roll over onto itself).

So what positions and restraints are the most comfortable for a long session?
Crikey, how long is a piece of string?? When I was modelling, and not meeting many other bondage models, I just assumed that everyone found the same things tricky and the same things fairly easy. Since shooting other models, I have realised that different people have different thresholds for all sorts of different things.
The hardest position I have EVER been tied in was when in the set with Kobe Lee in Sweden where we both had our wrists tied up to a tree branch. That really hurt my back though, rather than my arms. I didn’t expect it to be that tough but it hurt even more than an elbows together strappado for me!
Rope naturally tries to cut your circulation off – traditional handcuffs and leg irons have a habit of cutting into you – for all out comfort, I would go for the SM factory cuffs any day of the week 🙂

Gulp, I feel really sad! And I am sure I am not the only one.
Not really much I can say other than a MASSIVE thank you for the contributions you have made over the last 7 years. Your frank and open posts have made a big impact on this forum and greatly contributed to the ‘family’ feel of the site. There is no doubt that you will be missed a lot on the forum and in members chats but I can understand the reasons behind your decision.
On a positive note – congratulations on your engagement and your future life together!! I think you will find it much harder living with a girlfriend than it has been living with us lot 😉

Just seen the Zweitfrau video….. it’s inspirational on many levels. Think I shall have to, ahem, ‘borrow’ some ideas from it when I am next rigging / shooting. Some great ropework in it (and it helps that the main girl is very attractive too). It is very Restrained Elegance in that the bondage is quite strict but always flattering.

What a week! Who would have thought that a UK location shoot would be in such challenging conditions?? Many many thanks to everyone for making it such a memorable week as always – and thanks so much, Hywel, for asking me to come again, making this my 5th RE location shoot! It was such a lovely atmosphere despite it being very difficult to work and get your brain in gear with such muggy heat AND studio lights surrounding us.
I for one cannot wait to see some of the results. That image you posted, Hywel, is a one in a million shot, well done to Dave the Hasselhoff. 😉

Sorry to hear of your Norton woes!
Hywel alerted me to this earlier on. Norton is flagging only one file which I have checked several times and found no infection. Erring on the side of caution, I have removed the file altogether (Don’t worry it was just an image from a promotional gallery not from the main site). Hopefully this should stop Norton wailing at you. If it doesn’t please do let me know!

Hmm, I hadn’t really thought this was a problem as I usually open up the forum and the main site as separate tabs or windows anyway so I can refer to both at the same time. I can see how opening the forum automatically in a new window would help in some cases but not everyone likes extra windows opening willy nilly and would like a choice.
Is there really that much difference between pressing back on your browser and clicking a link on the actual page? Or right clicking and opening as a new window? Or am I totally missing something?

I wholeheartedly agree, Steve. Sounds perfectly fair. I think Sophia deserves an apology at the very least, Ariel!
Oh, and watching part two of the moving studios video, I had no idea that Ariel was making disparaging faces when I wasn’t looking – I think a severe punishment is in order for that one too!

Sorry I have been a bit quiet of late… too much and not enough play yada yada yada.
Anyway, I just had to commend Hywel and Ariel on the fab snow set. It is the first snowy one I have seen on the site which really convinces… the others have been lovely but Ariel could almost have been superimposed onto the setting (like some of the Hannah golden light shots in North France that time). I think it is a combination of the blue light and the simplicity but you both really captured it. That is the kind of set I would have liked to have taken 🙂 Hope that all makes sense in a waffly rambling kinda way!!!!

there are not enough (most times none) pictures taken from behind the model.
Last time I shot for RE, I really thought of this comment – I bet Ariel was sick of me asking her to turn round in the end… sometimes it is tricky though. For example, models tied to trees / beds / up against walls / railings.
I was wondering if this might include the occasional dungeon visit?

I would like to see the spaceship set used for a barbarella inspired set.
That is *exactly* what we said when shooting in the spaceship set at the studio for the very last time… although we didn’t exactly ‘channel’ Barbarella, we did shoot a pretty cool set with Ariel inspired by post apocalyptic grungy sci fi (think Bladerunner, Mad Max etc). It was great to shoot as it was a total collaboration – Hywel set up some ace lighting and dressed the set and helped with rigging, Ariel did a fantastic job with styling (and permanent glitter – eek!) and I shot and brought a rigging idea I had to life.
It was one of my favourite sets to be part of and it seemed a fitting way to say goodbye to the spaceship set… I can’t wait to see the finished pictures!
I am so up for shooting the Barbarella orgasmatron scene in the future though!

Are they really giving you some golden buttocks? Hope you shall wear them with pride – but warn the spankers before you turn up to shoots with them. Gives a new meaning to ‘This is going to hurt me more than it hurts you…’

I first experienced RE smugness in September 2006 after shooting in France. 2 and a half years on, I shot Ariel in the studio on Friday and still felt totally smug on the tube on the way home!

I had forgotten about that set too! Did Svampen shoot it… It wasn’t me as I remember rigging as I was trying to get the leg ropes symmetrical… or was it Merlin?
It all became a blur what with no sunsets all week… Nice set though, crikey we were productive that week!
I had also forgotten about Ariel in that boat! Looking stunning in the chinese dress on the jetty too, Ariel.
